How to access ResearchITCT?

Through ResearchIT CT, a core level of information resources including secured access to licensed databases is available to every citizen in Connecticut.  Magazines and Journals, Newspapers/Images, History/Biography, Law, Health and Science, E-Reference Books and Reading, and Research for Teachers.

When accessing this site from home, in order to conduct research, you will need to enter your library card.  Your Westbrook Public Library card number is what you will need to enter.  From school, any educational setting, such as the public library, you can access ResearchIT CT without your library card. Databases on all disciplines are housed at ResearchIT CT.

 

Citing Sources

You will find that your search results from ResearchITCT and our other databases, the citing will be done for you.  If you decide not to use ResearchITCT, then you will need to cite sources on your own.  A helpful link on the HS library website that will assist you with citing is the Citing Sources link. Listed are Knightcite and EasyBib.  

English classes use MLA on the works cited pages.
Social Studies classes use either MLA or Chicago style for citing sources.
Science classes will use MLA or APA for citing sources.
Always check with your teacher to see which style they prefer.  Teachers usually include this on their assignment.

Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. uses the 8th ed. of MLA, 6th ed. of APA, and 17th ed. of Chicago (9th ed. Turabian).
