Expectations - Students will arrive on time to class with all materials (books, notebook, and writing utensil.
Grading - There will be frequent vocabulary quizzes (lowest dropped) and several tests each quarter. Homework will be assigned on a daily basis. Participation is required. Tests will make up approximately 40 % of the grade. quizzes approximately 30 %, and homework/participation approximately 30%
Skills addresed - The four basic skill of learning a language are covered: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. In addition, another very important component is "a fifth skill." That is Culture. We hope to discuss the similarities and the differences that exist in the Spanish -speaking countries as compared to ours.
Performance task (Project) - During the second and fourth quarters there are projects assigned. They usually carry a heavy weight as far as the students' grades are concerned. Failure to complete these will probably result in failure for the quarter.
