Arts, Business, and Communications: Music Pathway

Pathway Summary: 

Careers in designing, producing, exhibiting, performing, writing, and publishing multimedia content (visual and performing arts and design, journalism, etc.)

NOTE:  Students interested in pursuing a career as a musician (instrumental or vocal) or a career which relies on music expertise are encouraged to enroll in as many music courses as possible.  The Career Connections courses listed below are designed to provide expertise in music and should be paired with courses focused on instrumental and/or vocal performance.  Students interested in pursuing a career in the performance side of music are encouraged to take as many music courses as their schedules permit since many college performance majors require auditions.  

Pathway Courses:

  • Level 1:  Concert Band or Choir (recommended Grades 9 -12)
  • Level 2:  UConn ECE Music Theory I and II
  • Level 3:  UConn ECE Music Appreciation
  • Level 4:  Form and Analysis
